Karolin Benker is a director and performer from Germany. She is the artistic director Theater Ensemble Würzburg (Bavaria, Germany), and is a co-founder of the Theaterhaus Ost (Halle, Germany) focused on gender equality, and GBTQTS+ perspectives. Her artistic work focuses on access, different languages and forms of expression, classism, and unheard voices. She has worked across Europe, leading projects in Czech, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain. She has also been travelling through Italy and Poland with her typewriter, writing spontaneous poems together with people she meets along the way. In 2026, she was thrilled to bring her typewriter project to Summerland’s Ryga Arts Festival.
